**Main Purpose of Job**
- Implementation, Maintenance and Reporting of the QHSE systems in the battery industry.
**Health and Safety Operations**
- Effectively manage and ensure full compliance to the QHSE Management System
- Implement SHEQ system requirements on all sites and continuously oversee/audit all sites.
- Enforce sub-contractor SHEQ compliance.
- Continuously review company compliance to legislation and assist in updating the QHSE Management system to accommodate these changes.
- Communicate OHSE requirements and changes in legislation to Management.
- Ensure that OHSE meetings are held, recorded and documented.
- Conduct incident / accident investigations when required.
- Ensure OHSE document and data control systems and archives are maintained.
- Promote OHSE Awareness - organize and assist in required training.
- Monitor audit findings - recommend and drive corrective and preventative actions.
- Conduct and facilitate risk assessments.
- Issue and administrate non-conformances where required.
- Assist in compiling the SHE plan.
- Assist with risk identification, evaluation and development of safe work procedures.
- Ensure all accidents are properly recorded, reported and investigated.
- Ensure all Health and Safety Representatives are appointed.
- Ensure safety meetings are held regularly and the results recorded.
- Ensure training needs are identified and implemented.
- Assist with induction training.
- Investigate all incidents and accidents.
- Responsible over the purchase, storage, issue, accounting for any substances used on our premises which (if not properly supervised) could result in death, injuries or illness to any of our staff or the public or in product contamination is essential.
- Familiarity with the contents of the Regulation for Hazardous Chemical Substance - keep a list of hazardous substances, their properties and to gather this obtain information from all suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety-related activities, including incident reports and corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on health and safety performance to management.
- Compile and submit all related H&S reports on behalf of business.
- Drive / assess and advise on industry specific requirements
- Compile/present formal presentations specific to client requirements on UPS design
- Compile / audit compliance / submit H&S files per UPS design and implementation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in health and safety processes.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance safety protocols.
- Contribute to the development and testing of emergency response plans.
- Ensure that all employees are familiar with emergency procedures and participate in drills.**Inherent Requirements**
**Minimum Job Requirements**
**Education & Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certification / training / qualification on ISO implementation/compliance/audits is highly desirable.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in the battery manufacturing industry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Relevant SHEQ courses (e.g., SAMTRAC, HIRA, OHSAct) essential.
- 2-5 years’ experience in SHEQ environment
