LABORATORY WORKER
The Department of Pathology and Medical Sciences is one of the 6 academic department in the
School of Health Care Sciences, Faculty of Health Science at the University of Limpopo. The
department offer a B.Sc. Medical Science, M.Sc. Medical Sciences and Ph.D. Medical Sciences
programmes, and also offer service modules to other Health Sciences departments and the MBCHB
programme. The department seeks for a laboratory working in Chemical pathology who will be
responsible cleaning and maintaining good hygiene in the laboratories and play a role in ensuring
that the laboratories in the department efficiently.
**Requirements**:
Grade 12
At least an NQF level 6 qualification in sciences.
**Experience**:
At least one year experience working in a teaching science laboratory
**Duties**:
Autoclave and wash glassware
Prepare distribute distilled water
Prepare waste for disposal
Ensure safe disposal of Medical waste
Keep waste disposal records
Ensure that all benches in the departmental laboratories are hygienically clean
Keep cleaning records
**Skills**:Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice.
Knowledge of Laboratory Health and Safety standards
Ability to work with studies
Computer literacy
Attributes:
Pay attention to detail
Good ethical behavior.
