Senior Specialist: Planning

**Role Purpose**

To analyse and present key financial data on the overall direct cost and opex expenditure of the company. Oversee accounting procedures and prepare forecasts, budgets and risk analysis on opex related cost. The objective is to contribute to the decision-making process of management that will ensure business sustainability, growth and long-term success.

**Role Description**

Opex (Operational Expenditure)

Create the Opex structures in SAP to Ring fence various Opex funds separately for Various Business Units Accurate allocation and segmentation Process/ Allocated all the Opex funding requirements in SAP Accurate and timely capturing Release Opex PRs in SAP, and ensure that projects are Captured / Allocated in the correct Buckets Verify and measure against budget and allocated approvals Re-allocate Opex funds between buckets within the same Business units Accurate re-allocations and timeous processing Ensure the Correct Documentation is attached to all the Opex special projects required for approval Accuracy and review of documents Load any additional Opex structure & Costs from newly approved Business Cases Accurate re-allocations and timeous processing Track Actual Opex against approved Business Cases/Update Virtual P&L’s.

OPCO Reporting

Prepare & Present Direct cost and Opex Slides on time for OPCO reporting Accurate and in time information Provide Commentary on the Analysis of Actual Spent vs Budget Update the Company Scorecard for OPCO reporting Review monthly Opex reporting received from Finance Operations to ensure reporting is accurate and to monitor Opex against budget. Preparing monthly Opex reporting pack. Communicate reports to Chiefs as well as resolving queries or provide further detail as required. Gathering and analysing financial information for internal use.

Customer first: Business Unit Requirements

Distribute Opex Reports to various Business Heads/ Chiefs to incorporate in their reporting. Accurate and in time information Highlight all the misallocations in the processing of Opex requests Assist and guide the Accruals with BU and process them Interrogate the actual spend vs budget and provide commentary Provide the link between BU and Central Finance and provide financial advice to operations. Perform ad hoc analysis on request.

Annual Operating Plan

Actively participate in preparation of 4+8 forecast and 7+5 Budgeting, as well as monthly rolling forecasts. Accurate and in time information Send out the AOP guidelines and timelines to the BU outlining the process to be followed during the AOP for Opex budgeting Assist the business to understand the Costs and how they can incorporate future assumptions in the AOP for the new period Consolidate the Opex inputs from the BUs into the Opex meta data for 4+8 and/7+5 Prepare presentation slides required for Opex discussions and approval Load the approved AOP in SAP and Hyperion (HFM system) Reconcile loaded AOP with the submissions from the BU and explain the variances Manage the intercompany reconciliations, administration and loads in HFM during 4+8, 7+5 and AOP time.

Ad-Hoc Requests (Support Requests)

Ad-hoc reporting and functions assigned from time to time Accurate and in time information Tracking operational & Financial efficiencies on Ad hoc projects Support the FP&A team in implementing a Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting tool.

Matric Essential B-tech Degree/ BCom/ or Honours Degree: Essential

CIMA Operational Level: Desirable

5 years Finance and Costing:Essential

1 year Understanding of IFRS:Essential

5 years Previous experience in Technology space as a Business Partner: Desirable

3 years Opex and funding: Essential
