Operator - Setter

We are looking for a reliable, dynamic, focused and detailed oriented individual with experience to fill our current vacancy as Operator
- Setter. The incumbent will be operating the Victor Machine/s, based at Rosslyn, Gauteng.

**Description**:
The Operator Setter set up
- and prepare machines before production, The Operator Setter also perform test runs, and, if necessary, adjust and make minor repairs to the machinery before and during operation.

**Qualification**:

- Grade 12 with mathematics

**Experience and Requirements**:

- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Machine Operator and the ability to oversee other supporting functions
- Knowledge of various production procedures
- Knowledge with regards to products specifications
- Should comply with safety procedures and processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of the plastic industry
- Knowledge of operating machines in relevant industry

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Prepare machines for the start of the production cycle
- Check the parts of the machinery before starting a machine
- Determine setup specifications, product dimensions, installation procedures and work sequences
- Read the blueprints to determine the specifications of the current project in order to pick out the best raw materials based on size and any other important characteristics
- Inspect materials as they come out of the rolling machine to make sure the products meet the specifications on the blueprint
- Troubleshoot any issues that occur in the functioning of the machine during the shift. Escalate to Manager if unresolved
- Change worn machine accessories such as cutting tools
- Conduct quality checks on a regular basis. Ensure the quality functioning of the machines
- Keep a record of the materials used every day for an accurate inventory
- Maintain detailed records of defective units and report to Manager immediately
