**ERM Certification and Verification Services (ERM CVS)**

ERM CVS is a rapidly growing global Business Unit within ERM. ERM is a leading global provider of climate risk, environmental, health, safety, social and sustainability services. Over the last four years, we have worked with more than half of the Global 500 companies. We have 5,500 professional staff working in 160 offices in over 40 countries around the world. We have a diverse client base which includes corporates across most sectors, as well as financial institutions.

Our assurance team has been established for more than 20 years and is recognised for delivering high quality assurance engagements across the full range sustainability. Due to the importance of climate and broader sustainability strategy and commitments, the importance of disclosing third-party verified data and setting carbon neutral goals and net zero claims has significantly increased.

**OVERALL JOB PURPOSE**

Due to a significant growth in demand for high value carbon offsets and carbon credits, there is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to lead the carbon offset/carbon credit service line within our ERM CVS team.
- Obtaining and managing our ANSI accreditation process
- Identifying opportunities for offset and carbon credit verification/assurance engagements
- Supporting in developing and managing a team through recruitment and internal training
- Serving as lead auditor on successful offset/credit assurance engagements

Our role as independent verification body is to verify high quality carbon offsets, and carbon credits to be offered into a global market.

**CORE SKILLS**

**Technical knowledge**:

- Relevant technical degree. A Masters would be an advantage and we are particularly interested to recruit individuals with nature based solutions, process engineering or similar (physics, chemistry) qualifications.
- Heavy industry (metals, process, O&G) specific sector experience would be an advantage, as would experience of other high-impact/high complexity industries to bring a broader knowledge to the team.
- Experience with nature based solutions and their role in carbon offsets and carbon credits.
- Good experience and knowledge of GHG accounting and reporting principles, mechanisms, methodologies and schemes, e.g. GHG Protocol, API Compendium, SBTi, EEIO etc.
- Able to proactively identify carbon credit markets and processes and procedures to obtain accreditation under these schemes.
- Good awareness / appreciation of:

- Climate legislation and the drivers for our clients taking action.
- Management systems.
- Economic analysis of GHG/energy reductions.
- Links between energy, natural systems, and climate change.

**Technical skills**:

- Experience in maintaining an audited management system (audited by a certification body)
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong Excel capabilities - advanced functionality and the ability to build complex tools, with the willingness and ability to further upskill.
- Experience of data manipulation and visualisation tools in addition to Excel would be an advantage.
- Experience of finding and developing carbon offset and carbon credit verification opportunities/proposal writing experience.
- Experience managing complex projects and directing a team.
- Efficient and effective project planning (i.e. managing work and deliverables; an element of resourcing and budgeting would be ideal).
- Ability to manage/deliver multiple projects/tasks in parallel with different requirements and timelines.
- Highly numerate and comfortable with large datasets including conversions and calculations.
- Good written and oral presentation skills.
- Good technical writing skills and ability to synthesise reports to a very high standard.
