**Responsibilities**:

- Supervision of production process during the shift in line with safety standards and production standards;
- Execution of production plan.
- Ensuring production continuity.
- Supervision over IDP plant assets.
- Providing knowledge related to technology and process.
- Creating and updating manuals.
- Controlling and supervising production reports.
- Cooperation with the maintenance in order to secure continuous process as well as to plan required repairs.
- Supporting R&D.
- Recommending solutions for Cartier's process optimization.
- Cooperation with safety officer in the area of fire protection and personal protective equipment.
- Actively attending meetings.
- Initiating actions to stimulate (explore) and continue (exploit) ideas.
- Issue permit-to-work for cold work, hot work and confined space entry.
- Cost management of overtime, PPE and other related costs on shift basis.
- Manage the plant according to SABS standards ( ISO9001:2008, ISO14001, &OHSAS18001).
- Conduct incident/accident investigations and take corrective actions.
- Communicate with the Lab and Maintenance personnel to keep the plant in production.
- Housekeeping during the shift
- Managing shift staff.
- Managing attendance register of shift staff.
- Creating annual leave plan for shift staff.
- Participating in the recruitment process for ISP.
- Provide training and guidance to operators and other employees.
- Ensuring high quality personnel performance and development.
- Coaching and mentoring.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum National Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process Technology, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or Chemistry and Technology of Oil and Gas and at least 3 years of professional experience as Shift Manager or Shift Supervisor, in a petrochemical or Oil & Gas refinery industry or alternatively
- NQF level 4 Chemical Plant Operations and at least 5 years of professional experience, 3 years as a Board Operator/DCS Operator and at least 2 years as Shift Manager, Sift Supervisor or Acting Shift Manager, in a petrochemical or Oil & Gas refinery industry.
- Attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and in a group;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
