Thungela Resources [Thungela means “to ignite” in isiZulu] is a leading South African thermal coal business, focused exclusively on thermal coal production. It is one of the largest pure-play producers and exporters of thermal coal in South Africa based on aggregate coal reserves and marketable coal production. Thungela focuses on exporting its thermal coal portfolio mainly to the Indian, Asian, Southeast Asian, Middle East and North African markets.

The role is responsible for ensuring smooth running of the Mining operation within area of responsibility, Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

- Responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment and machines in order to ensure the availability thereof
- Responsible for engineering technical compliance
- Adhering to all safety and health standards
- Promoting and maintaining good housekeeping within area of responsibility
- The incumbent will be required to work shifts, standbys
- Working overtime when required/ standby and shift
- Adhering to the Thungela Code of Conduct

**Qualifications**
- Grade 12/ Equivalent
- Electrical Trade Certificate (RED SEAL)

**Experience & Knowledge**
- At least 5 years’ post-trade experience as an Electrician, preferably in an OC environment
- Dragline or winder experience is compulsory
- The experience in MG-Set and MV switching
- Be able to do a fault finding from 24V to 22kV

**Additional Information**
- Valid driver’s license
- Display good understanding of equipment & tools, and the uses thereof
- Good knowledge of the trade and legislations governing the Mining industry, particularly the Mine Health & Safety Act
- Ability to work under pressure and handle a variable workload
