**Job Specification**

Locum doctor needed for a private healthcare facility specialised in physical rehabilitation based in the southern Johannesburg area. Join a multi-disciplinary team focused on ensuring comprehensive, goal-directed care.

**Requirements**:

- A MBBCh and registration with the **HPCSA**:

- Current **ALS **accreditation
- Experience in rehabilitation and clinical neurological care **is an advantage**:

- Experience in leading a team of professionals and successfully providing clinical supervision to professionals
- Understanding the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players **would be an advantage**:

- Specialist training as a registrar and or registration as a specialist in related specialities **would be an advantage**:

- Computer proficiency

**Critical Outputs**:

- Carry responsibility for the clinical assessment and daily management of in-patients admitted to the unit
- Positive engagement as a member of the interdisciplinary team in planning and implementing rehabilitation plans
- Maintain patient outcome standards according to the Quality Management System
- Communication with funders and insurers regarding patient condition, progress and future needs
- Communication with family members is key to keeping them updated on the medical condition and answering medically related questions
- Assist with the making of the business and the positioning of the unit in the provision of this challenging focus and teamwork
- Drive a program for the development of existing and new clinical services/products
- Represent the image of the company at a professional level
- Promote and maintain sound and productive relationships with the rehabilitation interdisciplinary team, doctors and other stakeholders in the field of Rehabilitation
- Drive and build sound working relationships with the referring specialists and keep them abreast of the progress of their patients
- As part of stakeholder management, referral of specialists to the business will be a continued focus area
- Monitor the service provided and ensure a high-level professional training for staff
