**Main purpose of the position**:
The Production Operator is responsible for manufacturing and packing of capsules into primary and secondary packaging material (bottles, caps, cartons, and shippers, etc.) in a pharmaceutical manufacturing and packing facility. A clear understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with this role is essential.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Prepare the work area and keep it safe, clean, and organized.
- Setup and operation of machinery and staging of bulk and packaging material required in the packing process.
- Assist in line clearance activities
- Follow and understand standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch manufacturing instructions related to the packing processes.
- Work on automated machinery operating packaging equipment.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (hair net, beard net (if needed), gloves, etc.) where required.
- Report process or equipment problems to the area supervisor.
- Move/stack raw materials and finished products.
- Follow production schedule and ensure that production start and finish times are adhered to.
- Accurately and completely record all required information on the batch records.
- Responsible for cleaning and housekeeping of the packing rooms and equipment, as well as maintaining cleaning logs.
- Responsible for constant communication with the department Supervision to determine needs.
- Follow cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) rules while performing daily functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Job Requirements**:

- Experience in packing and housekeeping
- GMP experience/ training
- AF90/ fully automatic encapsulating machine experience
- Attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Good time management skills
- Matric (Matriculants with Maths & Computer Literacy)
- Strong oral and written communication skills (English and /or Afrikaans)
- Good problem-solving ability
- Demonstrates integrity and ethical standards
