SEO Manager

We are looking to hire a **Senior SEO Strategist** to join our team

This role is based in Cape Town, working a flexible hybrid pattern and collaborating with a globally based marketing team. Working in-house for one of our 12 Travelopia brands.

As the **Senior SEO Strategist,**you will own and scale our organic acquisition strategy across search engines (Google, Bing), community-driven platforms (Reddit, Quora, YouTube), and emerging digital discovery channels. This role requires a strategic approach, technical SEO expertise, content distribution know-how, and experience navigating organic growth beyond traditional search.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage agency execution, and work closely with content, product, and analytics teams to drive sustainable, high-intent traffic growth.

**What you’ll do**:
**Organic Growth Strategy & Execution**
- Define and own the end-to-end organic acquisition strategy, integrating SEO, content, and emerging platform discovery.
- Conduct in-depth research to identify organic growth opportunities across Google, Reddit, Quora, YouTube, forums, and other high-intent channels.
- Lead all aspects of SEO best practices, technical audits, and content optimizations to enhance search visibility.
- Develop and implement a content amplification strategy to improve engagement and discovery beyond traditional search.
- Stay ahead of AI-driven search shifts, evolving algorithms, and new digital behaviors to future-proof our organic presence.

**Platform Expansion & Community Engagement**
- Build an organic traffic playbook for community-driven platforms, ensuring ethical and effective engagement.
- Identify high-value discussions and trending topics to strategically position the brand on Reddit, Quora, and niche forums.
- Partner with social and content teams to create thought leadership pieces that drive authority and engagement.
- Test and refine content formats, interactive experiences, and emerging platform optimizations.

**Execution Leadership & Content Expertise**
- Lead the execution of our strategies through agencies, ensuring alignment with business goals and critical metrics.
- Provide clear guidance and feedback to agencies to optimize SEO, content, and community-led initiatives.
- Strong writing skills in English with a nuanced understanding of UK vs. US market differences.
- Collaborate with content teams to ensure messaging resonates with each audience segment.

**Analytics, Reporting & Optimization**
- Define and track critical metrics for organic growth, traffic quality, engagement, and conversion rates across all platforms.
- Lead A/B testing and content performance analysis, continuously iterating based on data insights.
- Provide executive-level reporting on organic performance, highlighting successes, roadblocks, and next steps.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Proven experience in SEO, organic growth, or content-led acquisition strategies.
- Expertise in Google SEO (technical, on-page, off-page) and alternative search/discovery platforms (Reddit, Quora, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
- Strong understanding of search intent, community engagement, and audience-driven content distribution.
- Experience in leading agency partnerships to implement organic growth strategies
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft content tailored to the UK vs. US audience.
- Experience working with SEO tools (GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs), analytics dashboards, and community monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical mentality with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Passion for staying ahead of digital trends and maximising new opportunities for organic reach.
