Then you may be perfect for our Operations Lead role. **Hours**: Monday to Friday plus alternate Saturday mornings **Reporting line**: Head of Department We are looking for someone to oversee a small operation in South Africa and some people possibly remotely. We are looking for a self starter who can help to keep our operation uniform with our operations in the region. **Qualifications and Skills** - Bachelors degree with **Logistics** as an advantage - Relevant **cross border experience - essential** - Clearing and forwarding experience - ** Business Development / Commercial** experience a distinct advantage - Good knowledge and experience of** transport management software solutions** - Proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative - Clear communication skills ensuring flow of clear, timely and candid information - Person of high integrity - able to demonstrate trustworthiness - Independent worker - able to work well with mínimal supervision - Strong people management skills - ensure deliverables required by others to complete tasks are provided **Responsibilities and Duties** - Being accountable for the effectiveness of both the clearing function and the forwarding operations function from South Africa. - The vetting and ongoing performance management of subcontractors (clearing agents, air and sea carriers, local distribution road transporters) - Responsible for providing technical and commercial input to the** technology team** in developing customs entry (clearing) systems and air and sea freight cargo management (forwarding) systems and road transport management systems - Responsible for defining new operational processes, gaining approval for them, leading their implementation and then driving conformance to agreed **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)** - Providing a single point of contact between the SA operations team and the Road Freight team during times of stress in the supply chain. This is a fast moving and volatile environment, and a cool head is a distinct advantage - Actively driving Alistair Group’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality vision and values. - Assisting on any other Company requests when required. Ie Procurement, client meetings, etc - Communicating with Clients and **Operational Leads** - Understanding client needs and problems and providing solutions using Alistair Group current and potential resources - Regularly visiting clients to speak with customers face-to-face - Identifying new projects and strategic areas in which we should invest - Inputting in the long term Group strategy and development - Enhancing customer experience with clear communication and innovative solutions - Assist with building the most knowledgeable and effective business development team in the region - Demonstrating a rational awareness of pricing and quote accordingly By completing your details and clicking “Submit Application” you consent to Alistair Group processing your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. qQQ4ASkMDl
