- Reporting Line: General Sales & Marketing, Rail division- Brief Description of Position:
- Identify, plan and execute sales targets and activities for a defined product and service-portfolio, in the African Market, in order to increase sales and to achieve defined commercial targets. To develop and co-ordinate a team across relevant locations and business units to support the initiative- Key Performance Areas:
- P&L responsibility for Africa Sales (3P / Intercompany Subgroup EU / Intercompany Subgroup external)- Leadership and support for Africa regions and relevant locations- Product stewardship / support / marketing for all product groups- Active marketing of package solutions (all products OE & RS)- Process tasks:
- African market awareness / research (Sales & System)- Customer service to African rail operators- Sales planning - Africa- Sales activities (offers, negotiations, calculations, reports...)- System design / configuration suitable for Africa- Project management- Contract execution (sales phase)- Project responsibility until the end of the warranty phase- System support (for the customer / operator)- Co-ordination of customer projects across all organizational units- Other tasks?- Key Account Management- Training: External for customers (as an exception), Internal for new employees- Aftermarket Support- Contributor to development processes / CoC- Reporting: Project reporting, Management reporting- Industry Association work- Regional support- Documentation- Commissioning- RAMS/ LCC Initiation of innovation projects-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Required Education and Professional Experience:
- Technical qualification (Engineering)- Proven track record in sales in African market.- 10 years plus in a Sales role.- Extensive experience in marketing and interaction with rail customers within Africa will be advantageous.- Experience in business and trade with African government organisations as well as private companies.- Thorough understanding of the railway’s contribution to unlocking business and development in African countries.- Must have strong leadership capabilities and possess strong commercial, technical management knowledge and skills- Competencies Required:
- Effective communication: good interpersonal and communication skills, and able to communicate effectively, adapting style to audience.- MS Office- Comprehensive knowledge of competitors, customers, partners and other role players on the African continent.- Experience and knowledge to assess customer needs and offer elegant and cost-effective suitable solutions whilst nurturing strong customer relationships.- Negotiation skills to negotiate and influence all levels of the organisation.**What Qualification**
