**Procurement Specialist**

A vacancy exists to request quotes, raise purchase orders and schedule deliveries, whilst ensuring the quoted materials comply with commercial terms, technical specifications and the due date requirements of the client.

We are a supply chain company dealing mostly with mines and oil and gas. The incumbent should have a track record of consistently meeting quote and order targets in a similar industry. Proven ability to grow client spend and/or attract new clients is key to this role.

The position is based in Johanneburg, Germiston

**Qualifications, Skills and Attributes**:

- Relevant Tertiary qualification
- 2 - 3 years working experience in a buying, expediting or logistics role.
- Sourcing and procurement experience
- Intermediate product and commodity knowledge
- Mining and industrial experience required
- Negotiating skills
- Good working knowledge of INCO terms
- Experience in reviewing Supplier performance
- Analysing complex data and stats, using information to make decisions
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as individually.
- Excellent time management and deadline driven
- Results & Operationally driven
- Creative problem solving
- Attention to detail

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Identify sources of supply for RFQ’s
- Request Quotes
- Raise Purchase orders
- Verify quote and PO information
- Maintain quotes and PO’s
- Coordinate the procurement process and receipts for orders placed.
- Confirm receipt of the PO with the Supplier
- Confirm the delivery dates with the Suppliers within 24 - 72hrs and capture into SAP (Local and International)
- Expedite approval and release of own orders
- Communicating with Clients on updates to delivery dates
- Resolve quantity, and quality issues with Suppliers
- Maintain solid relationships with suppliers with effective and timely communication and continual follow up.
- Keeping track of poor performance by suppliers.
- Ensure knowledge of commodities supplied by supplier to identify opportunities to improve the procurement process.
- Management of Supplier COD’s and understanding of Supplier terms.
- Ensure assigned queries are resolved within KPI and updated on implemented business systems.
- Update and maintain Quotes, PO’s, Sales Orders in the system.
- Responsible for reviewing and 1st release of own orders.
- Review open order report, and weekly expediting report by client, and act upon any overdue items.
- Maintain an auditable document trail as per procedures.
- Perform any other tasks related to the overall objective of the position

**Salary**: R30,000.00 - R35,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
