IT Sourcing Specialist

Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam. What will you do?
The IT Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing the IT sourcing plans for the Sanlam Group. The role resides within Sanlam Group Technology and forms part of the IT Sourcing, Contracts and Vendor Management team. The purpose of the role is to facilitate a seamless onboarding process for new vendors and to maintain the integrity of contracts and confidentiality of the sourcing process. What will make you successful in this role?
To be a trusted advisor to Sanlam business with regards to IT sourcing
Engage with relevant business forums providing advice and guidance regarding the sourcing process
Enable the Sanlam business by providing access to suitably skilled vendors/suppliers through the sourcing process

**Conduct RFx's (tenders) when required**:
Assist business units with compiling of RFx (tender) documentation packs including evaluation criteria
Collaborate with Sanlam Group Sourcing on various RFx initiatives and engagements
Participate in IT ESD initiatives through Sanlam ESD Program
Engage with relevant forums and internal review teams, i.e., Architecture Forum, Cloud Risk Assessment etc
Conduct Market research activities when required to obtain understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Review sourcing policies, procedures, and documents on a regular basis
Ensure correctness, availability, and adherence to Sourcing templates, policies, and procedures.
Identify and manage risks for Vendor Management Team
Co-ordinate and participate in vendor evaluation and selection process for tenders
Ensure consolidation and optimisation in the sourcing and contracting process through effective negotiation
Identify possible savings and Value Add opportunities
Meet with potential suppliers
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant post Matric qualification (Procurement / Purchasing / Supply Chain / Commercial)
IT degree would be advantageous
CIPS Qualification will be an advantage
Understanding and interpretation of the BBBEE codes
An understanding of the complexities associated with IT services and Vendors
