Recruitment
Monitor, guide and manage recruitment activities for client group by ensuring vacancies are closed within timelines, applicable paperwork is compiled and reviewed and where necessary provide coaching and guidance to hiring managers.
Ensure regular review of manpower plan for client group in order to ensure alignment and compliance.
Liaise with recruitment team and support recruitment in client group\s in accordance with company process and policies.
Conducting interviews together with manager where necessary and coaching managers on interviewing styles making use of the interview guides available.
HR Business Support to Client Group
Provide pro-active, timely, effective and direct coaching to client group people managers, assisting in the development of strong, contemporary people leadership skills.
Ensure a regular rhythm with regional managers and group and where necessary and able ensure that quarterly region visits are planned and completed in an effort to ensure adequate presence to render HR business partnership to client groups, leverage alternative means (MS teams) where travel is not permitted.
Provide support and guidance to client group in dealing with employee related matters i.e. leave management, employee counselling, poor performance counselling, coaching, performance etc.
Ensure all HR related administration \ transactional requests are completed timeously and where necessary liaise with and leverage the greater HR team.
Responsible for ensuring monthly reporting on HR stats and updates at client group meetings.
Provide relevant analytics (reports) where necessary to enable effective management and tracking of people related matters.
Industrial Relations
Coaching of managers/supervisors on the disciplinary process on a case-bycase basis in line with policies, procedures, and related legislation.
Building and maintaining a relationship with the trade union and employer association to facilitate necessary changes etc.
Consult with unions (where applicable), the bargaining Council / CCMA and other related stakeholders on employee related matters.
Allow managers to take lead in preparing for disciplinary matters however ensure oversight over the process and review all preparation completed by managers.
Ensure that all IR/ER matters are attended to in a timely manner and based on the requirements of the necessary legislation, with a 100% success rate for all matters referred to labour institutions (the success rate is based on matters within control of the HRBP).
Ensure that all associated legal costs are reviewed and approved by the GM: HR before committing to these costs.
Proactive development and implementation of initiatives, processes, and templates to ensure consistency in disciplinary practices and higher level of ownership, capability and involvement of the respective managers.
Keep abreast of legislation changes and updates to provide guidance to client group and ensure risk is managed.
Proactively identify trends and recommend proactive measures to reduce risks.
Implementation and management of HR Plan within Client Group
Ensure regular connect with greater HR Team to understand what initiatives are planned (both fixed and project based) to be able to support successful implementation, including change management, within client
group\s i.e. Talent initiatives.
Manpower planning & employment equity compliance, C&B processes, skills development plans etc.
Policy Compliance & Continuous Improvement for Client Group
Provide input into and assistance with the development and revisions of policies, organograms, job descriptions etc.
Ensure understanding of and compliance with policies and procedures.
Proactively develop innovative ways to drive increased awareness, compliance and manager capability in client group where risk areas are identified.
Keep track of trends, gaps, risks, opportunities for improvement and propose proactive measures to reduce risks\gaps identified and improve HR effectiveness. Such proposals to be approved prior to implementation.
Keep abreast of best practice and recommend improvement plans\initiatives to align, where applicable and relevant. Such recommendation to be approved prior to implementation.
Employee Onboarding and Offboarding
Ensure successful On-boarding of new employees in accordance with onboarding process.
Drive implementation of onboarding process in client group and plan regular follow up to ensure effectiveness and completion of related training i.e. Corporate \ site and role specific programs.
Ensure termination process is followed end to end by providing guidance to client group and liaising with broader HR team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
