**Food Specialist Needed for Coffee Shop based in Diep River, Cape Town**

**Position: Food Specialist**
Location: In-Store, Diep River, Cape Town Reports to Store Manager

**Job Overview**
- As our Food Specialist, you'll be responsible for all food preparation and production within the store. You will focus on maintaining high-quality standards, presentation, and freshness in all our food items.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Food Preparation and Production**:

- Prepare a variety of food items, including muffins, pastries, croissants, paninis, rolls, tostas, wraps, and salads
- Ensure all food items meet our quality standards and are presented attractively
- Maintain detailed product knowledge and interact with customers about our food offerings

**Cleanliness and Hygiene**:

- Maintain cleanliness of all food preparation areas, equipment, and storage spaces
- Adhere to and implement food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Conduct daily and weekly deep cleaning of the kitchen area

**Stock Management**:

- Manage stock rotation and organisation in the kitchen and display areas
- Ensure timely replenishment of food items and packaging materials

**Customer Service**:

- Assist in creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers
- Communicate effectively with colleagues using company terminology
- Serve customers and provide information about food items on display

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required
- Professional appearance and impeccable personal hygiene
- Passion for food and customer service
- Willingness to work long hours when necessary
