We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to join our team.

As a Mechanical Drafter, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and models using Autodesk Inventor (CAD) software.

Your drawings will serve as blueprints for the manufacturing and construction of mechanical components and systems.

**Responsibilities**
- Interpret customer drawings and samples, assessing whether all the information is available to create what the customer is looking for.
- Use relevant tools to extract the required information to draw the part.
- Creates vector drawings in the format required for laser cutting.
- Assist colleagues and customers with queries relating to part drawings.
- Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
- Recommend solutions to solve the issues that are found.
- Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Preparation of customer drawing before production
- Manage strict deadlines
- Working with team members and liaising with different departments
- Set up and program of Laser Cutter
- Interpret engineering drawings
- Maintain tight tolerances with design specifications
- Nesting and setting
- Assess the laser machine after each production run, perform preventative maintenance
- Adhere to health and safety rules and processes
- Load programs, and set machine parameters and proper fixtures to ensure optimal performance
- Perform dimensional inspections
- Identifying material thickness
- Effectively distribute the workload of the lasers to ensure that cutting hours are evenly distributed
- Calculating cutting hours daily
- Ensure that nesting is done effectively with the least amount of scrap
- Keep stock of offcut material
- Ensure that the correct number of parts are nested so that no extra parts have to be nested
- Monitor raw materials to identify shortfalls
- Ensure that the correct raw material is used when allocating nesting to the lasers

**Qualifications**
- 2 years experience in CAD (preferred)
