Finance Controller

**Overall Responsibility: This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects relating to Accounting Activities as well as maintaining the overall compliance of the company control environment. The Financial Controller is primarily responsible for providing accurate and timely company records by managing the accounting function. Duties include owning the financial close process and producing financial statements and reports to guide decision-making.**

**Focus Area 1 Main responsibility of Focus Area**
**Control Environment**
**Responsible for the implementation and subsequent maintenance of Financial Accounting policies, Standard operating procedures**
**Implement Financial Health, Ops Finance, and CFO checklist and trackers, measure, and track through the scorecard, reported in the executive reporting pack**
**Delegation of authority implemented and maintained, Central Point for All Contracts held with finance**
**Maintain Financial and regulatory compliance - Document view of compliance matrix - Demonstrated view of compliance**
**Ensure Minimum Internal Controls Framework (MICS) in place**

**Focus Area 2 Main responsibilities of Focus Area**
**Finance Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA)**
**Responsible for the all Finance Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA)**
**Maintain Accurate Ledgers with compliance to SCOA across all SHPH entities**
**Maintain Management accounts (MA) set-up and master data across all SHPH entities**
**Manage and integrated view of SCOA mapping with one version view of AFS, Draftworx, and MA mapping**

**Focus Area 3 Main responsibilities of Focus Area**
**Financial Reporting**
**Timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Reporting**
**Co-ordinate all financial timelines, deadlines, and standard deliverables**
**Compliance to Month End Reporting routines and Reconciliations**
**Presentation and publishing of the Management Accounts and consolidated**
**Management Accounts Drafting of Executive financial reporting presentation pack**
**Responsible for drafting, completing and sign off of all Annual Financial Statements Co-ordinate Budgets, Forecast and latest estimate**
**Basic Cost and Budget Control reporting and Responsible for basic Financial Analysis**

**Focus Area 4 Main responsibilities of Focus Area**
**Fixed Asset Management**
**Fixed Assets Register reconciliation and control**
**Prepare monthly reports**
**Depreciation Cash flow planning and reporting**

**Focus Area 5 Main responsibilities of Focus Area**
**Audit and Tax Compliance**
**PWC Auditors engagement Ensure SARS corporate, Excise, VAT, and other tax compliance**
**Maintain Financial and regulatory compliance**

**Focus Area 6 Main responsibilities of Focus Area**
**Company Secretarial, Company Insurance, and Legal Support**
**Maintain Financial, statutory, Legal, and regulatory compliance Manage the relationship, and engagement of all external service financial service providers BGC, Titan Caveat Legal, Work Smith, Consultants, etc.**

**Focus Area 7 Main responsibilities of Focus Area**
**Business Partnering**
**Work with the business to track financial performance and provide financial information, forecasting, and analysis to help guide decision-making and set strategy**
**Support and challenge the business to continually ensure that its strategies align with financial goals**
**Support the business with Cost analysis and Budget Control reporting**

**Requirements of the Role**
**B. Com Honours or equivalent a bachelor’s degree in Accounting**
**Aspiring CA(SA) will be a preferential advantage**
**Audit experience is mandatory**
**Detailed understanding of the IFRS and Income tax Act is mandatory**
**Previous experience as a financial controller or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as an accountant.**
**Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and analysing financials with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.**
**Must be detail-oriented, have strong research, problem-solving, and analytical skills, and have the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, vendors, and management.**
**Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.**
**Familiarity with ERP systems**
