**Role Responsibilities**:
Responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software assets within the assigned portfolio.
Providing support to technical teams and ensuring adherence to policies by maintaining and monitoring service assets.
Providing financial expertise to personnel responsible for procurement of IT Software Assets.
Managing software assets within the Asset Register to ensure accurate financial statements.
Managing software products within the system to provide accurate operational software information.
Providing effective operational stewardship of software assets deployed within the IT environment.
Providing expertise in understanding Product Use Rights License terms and conditions and contractual entitlements.
Managing software compliance to avoid financial and compliance risk to the organisation.
Providing financial expertise within the IT environment to assist technical teams in managing IT Software assets.
Accumulating information to report on work progress and use for decision making purposes.
Deploying resources appropriately and anticipating and resolving problems.
Ensuring procedures, policies and mandates are clearly understood and complied with.
Ensuring the development, alignment and implementation of end-to-end processes.
Implementing change and providing guidelines to direct reports defining the impact of change.
Implementing resource plans in line with delivery and performance objectives.
Managing a work function or unit by focusing on the delivery and achievement of set objectives.
Planning / organising multiple work outputs by assigning priorities and continuously reviewing objectives and goals.
Providing input into the development of the tactical strategy as well as develop / implement an operational strategy.
Reporting on progress of the unit and or team against pre-defined objectives and standards.
Ensuring that the asset register is continuously updated to reflect movement of assets.
Implementing and using governance and compliance procedures / processes effectively.
Understanding / implementing governance control processes and role segregation requirements.
Implementing risk management, governance and compliance policies and processes.
Building strong relationships through providing direction and leadership to your own team.
Implementing appropriate people capacity plans in line with delivery and efficiency targets.
Monitoring / actively managing team performance to meet specified objectives against required targets.
Drawing up a budget aligned to operational delivery plans, monitor and report on variances.
Implementing, managing and reporting on cost improvement objectives and communicating / escalating any shortfalls.
Ensuring team's adherence to specific policies, standards & procedures.
Developing / implementing processes which build client service delivery excellence.
Implementing continuous improvements and shorter turnaround times in line with Service Level Agreements.
Managing interdependencies to ensure input and output flow between all teams and divisions and external stakeholders.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Relevant Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7)
**Relevant Skills / Experience**:
5 - 7 years' experience in a Software Asset Management environment.
1 year ideally at supervisory level.
