**Job Advert Summary**:
This Johannesburg-based role is a remote position designed to support the Sales strategy of the broader Newmark Hotels & Reserves portfolio, with specific focus on the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events) segment and STO Leisure business. The Sales Manager - MICE and Leisure will be responsible for servicing and growing business from the Johannesburg MICE and tour operator database, driving group and leisure production across the Newmark portfolio

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Valid Driver’s Licence and access to own vehicle.
- A recognized Sales qualification or 3-5 years’ relevant hospitality industry experience.
- Proven experience within the MICE, STO leisure, and Johannesburg-based travel trade sectors.
- Experience in full event lifecycle management from acquisition through coordination.
- Strategic, analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM platforms; experience with Opera advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple properties and stakeholder teams.
- Understanding of budgeting, rate structures, and commercial negotiations.
- Domestic, regional, and international travel may be required.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Business Development**
- Identify, develop and manage key accounts within the MICE and STO leisure segments.
- Actively grow the Johannesburg-based tour operator and MICE database.
- Conduct in-person sales calls, virtual presentations, and client meetings to promote the Newmark portfolio, with a focus on generating business for multiple properties.
- Proactively prospect for new clients through market research, cold calling, sales blitzes, and networking opportunities.
- Monitor tender platforms, complete RFPs, and prepare proposals for conferences, incentives, and group bookings.
- Negotiate contracts across group, incentive, and leisure business segments.
- Cross-sell and upsell properties across the portfolio to maximize revenue contribution.
- Collaborate with internal teams for integrated sales execution and alignment.

**Account Management**
- Develop strong relationships with existing clients and grow market share.
- Maintain and renew STO contracts and group agreements annually.
- Coordinate and host site inspections, client events, trade presentations, and familiarization trips.
- Deliver training and product updates to agency and operator partners.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Revenue teams to align strategy and promotions with account needs.

**Sales Administration & Reporting**
- Utilize digital and manual systems to manage leads, activities, and client history.
- Ensure all databases and contact lists are accurate and regularly updated.
- Report on competitor trends, pipeline activity, and performance against targets.
- Accurately maintain documentation of sales activities and outcomes.
- Proficient usage of CVENT or similar event software is advantageous.
