Team Leader

**Job Advert Summary**:
The role of the Team Leader - Fund Accounting-UK will be expected to manage a team of Offshore Fund Accountants who will perform the accounting and administration of various offshore fund types as part of the Global Fund Valuation & Accounting Team. The individual will be required to manage staff, assist staff with operational issues, review staff work and ensure that the team fund valuation deliverables are produced and dispatched on time and inaccordance with the client service level agreements (SLA). The individual will also be required to ensure that the operational processes followed by staff meets quality standards. Furthermore, this role will also oversee projects that are aimed at improving Offshore Fund Accounting Team operational processes and provide operational insight to the client implementation team for new Offshore Fund take-ons.

**Minimum Requirements**:
An accounting qualification (minimum B.Com or equivalent) together with either 3 years accounting experience or 5 years Senior Fund accounting experience in asset management portfolio administration and pricing; A strong all-round understanding and proven track record of experience in fund accounting as part of back office administration; The ability to design new processes and conceptualise and assist in the development of systems to support those processes; Should have experience with the various offshore fund types; and Detailed understanding of funds and fee structures.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The Position will be expected to: Fund Accounting Oversight: Deal with external-, internal client, staff
- and audit queries; Ensure accurate calculations of fund valuations through a review of Offshore fund valuations produced by staff; Communicate and respond to any queries originated on the Funds from different Fund Services SA operational teams; Compile a daily/weekly/monthly production schedule, process and controls, and the maintenance thereof; Ensure material NAV errors are identified, escalated to management and appropriately remediated via a NAV re-price process; Document operational processes, create and follow fund valuation checklists and implement controls within your team; Monitor and manage the output of the team according to the daily/weekly/monthly production schedule; Manage Cherwell’s logged to the Offshore Fund accounting team, monitoring, allocating and resolve open items Monitoring and delegating to ensure that cash recons in fund accounting are clear. Implementation of projects, checks and controls to mitigate risk; Ensure that fund structures and client groups are optimal for new Fund take-ons; People Management: Monitor and manage the output of Coordinate performance management of each team member, which include setting KPIs which align to job description, structure staff development and manage team member performance feedback; Management of staff in taking on new funds allocated; Participate and lead training applicable for the team.**
Skills and Competencies**:
Knowledge and experience with the use of InvestOne, NX Manager & Xceptor is an advantage Advanced level experience in using Excel and other related systems; Proven competence and an aptitude for working with systems; Previous experience in supervising a team and conducting colleague reviews; Previous experience in dealing with clients; Previous experience in mentoring of junior and new staff; An aptitude for hard work and an ability to operate under pressure on a regular basis; A track record of achievement. Self-motivated, conscientious and committed to meet tight deadlines and delivering work of a high standard; Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); A good team player, with an ability to work with people and able to establish and manage relationships Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
