- The incumbent reports to the HSEQ Manager of Totalgaz Southern Africa
- The main areas of responsibility include:
- Ensuring contractor compliance with the OHS-Act, No 85 of 1993 and TotalGaz Safety file requirements.
- Ensuring contractor compliance to the ICC requirements.
- Being a change agent for improving the compliance of contractors by assisting contractors with their safety file submission and preparing contractors for ICC audits.
- Providing advice and guidance on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) matters, to ensure that the contractors comply with TotalGaz requirements.
- Emergency Response Co-ordination and assisting with TotalGaz Corporate Emergency Response arrangements (CMC)

**Context and environment**

**Contractor Management**:

- Onboard new contractors
- HSEQ improvement of contractors & regular follow up
- Compile monthly KPI's on Safety files
- Assist contractors in completing and submitting Safety files
- Assist and prepare contractors for ICC (Inspection of conformity of contractors) audits
- Schedule audits
- Follow up on contractor action plans
- Ensure contractor management system satisfies the requirements of company rules, procedures, process, guidelines, and legal requirements.

**HSEQ Responsibility**
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve TGSA HSEQ Management systems for a strong HSEQ culture within the company.
- Maintain submissions, update, and verify quality of SharePoint timeously
- Assist with implementation and sustainability of systems such as One Maestro, SRM++ etc.
- Accurate compilation of Monthly Safety report, as well as logging of events on RAMSES
- Conduct presentations on areas of responsibility during Monthly HSEQ Meeting
- Assist with planning scheduling HSEQ related training for Head Office and Depot staff when required
- Assist in servicing of Head Office emergency equipment
- Assist in arranging for calibrations for depots (Gas detectors and breathalyzers)
- Monitor the HSE KPI Tracker and report in various platforms
- Plan and schedule regular internal audits for sites under your responsibility

**Compliance to company rules**
- Manage a list of company rules as per task list
- Perform gap assessment, draft action plan to close the gaps and prepare a KPI to monitor progress
- Train all staff on the approved internal procedures
- Monitor the implementation of compensatory measures in the Company rule waivers and the validity of waivers.

**Incident Investigation**
- Conduct accident and incident investigations by leading the route-cause analysis and provide recommendations for the prevention for corrective and preventative measures
- Prepare investigation reports

**Action Plan Management**
- Create and upload into SharePoint action plans from inspections, audit, and survey/studies for your respective sites
- Prepare a KPI to monitor the progress on closures for respective sites

**Industrial Hygiene**
- Review contractual agreement and ensure service provider follows the SLA
- Prepare quarterly Health SteerCom KPIs
- Track actions for the medical surveillance program and escalate any unresolved matters
- Provide support for the Wellness Day Program

**Non-conformance**
- Maintain and update non-conformance /events on SharePoint
- Submit monthly KPIs timeously to the sites under responsibility
- Track age analysis and escalate long outstanding items

**Emergency Preparedness**
- Execute your responsibilities for Head Office emergency preparedness as per the appointment letter.
- Ensure security and Emergency Response plans are in place for sites allocated to your responsibility.
- A professional qualification/certification in HSEQ and or a strong HSEQ background
- Contractor Management knowledge and experience
- An understanding of the risk profiles related to the LPG industry
- Good knowledge of all relevant legislation that impacts on the operations and HSEQ functions (eg OHS-ACT)
- Knowledge of ISO certification and Safety Management Systems
- The ability to create an environment for the company to excel in HSE areas
