Cabinet Maker

**Introduction**:
To be successful as a Cabinet Maker, you should be able to engage in physical activity for extended periods of time.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Selecting the appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for each task;
- Cutting resources down to size, as needed and required;
- Proper planning to ensure that each project is completed on time;
- Creating standard and custom components of cabinets or other furniture;
- Gathering the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final product;
- Inspecting each completed item to ensure that it has been constructed accurately, and that the necessary finishes have been applied;
- Repairing or alter elements of cabinets or furniture as required;
- Ensuring that you wear the necessary PPE.

**Required qualifications & experience**:

- Matric or equivalent qualification (N3 or similiar);
- Completion of a training program or apprenticeship as a Cabinet Maker will be advantageous;
- Prior experience as a Cabinet Maker, with a portfolio of completed works;
- Must have previous experience in spray-painting cabinets (this is essential and not negotiable);
- The ability to visualise spaces in order to create appropriate furniture;
- Good arithmetic skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship.
