Site Manager

**PURPOSE OF ROLE**
The Site Manager has the overall responsibility for coordinating and integrating all construction activities on site, in compliance with instructions, drawings and specifications received from the Project Manager as well as the development of the construction processes and procedures.
**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**
- Be appointed as the Site Manager and take associated responsibility for safe working of the Lesedi team and sub-contractors on site.
- Manage, Compile and Ensure that all applicable site documentation, processes and procedures are in place and executed to enable uninterrupted execution of site activities.
- Implement and enforce all required safety checks, procedures and record keeping.
- Execute and issue daily planning for effective project execution on site in support to the Project Manager.
- Planning updates and enabling execution of daily activities to achieve project milestones.
- Engage, negotiate and discuss site related issues with the client representatives in a professional and constructive manner.
- Compile and issue daily and weekly diaries.
- Pro-active arrangements and notifications to the Project Manager on matters impacting project execution.
- Execution of site establishment and associated activities.
- Sub-contractor management of contractor representatives on site, including monitoring and managing of progress in accordance with the daily planning.
- Site team establishment and identification of shortages and/or inefficiencies in Lesedi and sub-contractor teams.
- Managing of site equipment to ensure effective and safe use.
**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Engineering National Diploma or Degree (Mechanical)
- 8 + years’ relevant site management experience,
- Smelter and Refinery related construction experience will be advantageous
- Must have a proven track record delivering projects successfully
**COMPETENCIES**
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction management principals,
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001,
- Thorough knowledge on contract management and contract requirements,
- Thorough understanding of project scheduling,
- Good knowledge of regulatory and safety governance, focusing on site requirements,
- Must be a strong leader and someone that site personnel will respect and look up to,
- Assertive and actively promote team work on site,
- Work methodically with attention to detail,
- Act ethically, with honesty, reliability and integrity at all times,
- Independently initiate activities through self-motivation & assist others in quiet periods.
