Specialist: Sustain, Bbbee Oversight

**Core Description**:
Responsible for providing support, coordinating and reporting on all activities and processes related to the achievement of Telkom's Empowerment and Sustainability Strategy and objectives. The key focus is to plan, review, monitor and report implementation of compliance to relevant legislation. Provide guidance across the Group on implementation of and compliance with relevant legislations. Co-ordinate and report on all process pertaining to the audit and verification of Telkom's BBBEE contributions on an annual basis. Leading the development of standards, processes and management systems to facilitate the delivery of the sustainability and integrated annual reporting processes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development of the organisation's BBBEE, EE and integrated report process to be in line with the changing national and international trends
- Prepare, compile, align and articulate the purpose and content of the organisations reports, issues and trends both to internal and external stakeholders
- Understand the business strategy and operations so risks can be identified and managed appropriately
- Provide advice and support on B-BBEE, EE and related ESG performance gaps versus best practice identified during the audit and /or progress
- evaluation processes.
- Develop planning and tracking strategies to close gaps and enhance performance on B-BBEE, EE and ESG related initiatives.
- Measure, monitor and report B-BBEE, EE and related ESG performance.
- Conduct on-going research and benchmarking on B-BBEE; EE and ESG related activities and provide recommendations applicable to Telkom
Assess and quantify the consequences of legislations
- Conduct impact analysis of new legislations, revised Codes and regulations
- Conduct internal training and awareness to all Telkom employees
- Provide integrated reporting on strategic BBBEE; EE and related ESG issues
- Keep up to date with industry research relating to B-BBEE Transformation trends in order to educate employees and to inform internal strategy
- Work with internal audit to monitor organisational performance to oversee that business KPI's are measurable and auditable
- Ensure that the organisation meets its compliance obligations for submission of documents to relevant stakeholders
- Conduct on-going research and benchmarking on transformation related activities and provide recommendations applicable to Telkom and ensuring
- implementation initiatives are in place
- Represent Telkom at relevant forums, e.g. ICT sector council.
- Accountable and responsible for ensuring that the function engages with its key stakeholders within the appropriate governance framework

**Qualifications**:
Relevant 3-year degree/ diploma (NQF level 6)

**Experience**:
5 years relevant exp in dealing with issues relating to BBBEE & EE. Some experience in ESG or related fields would be an advantage.
