- Gauteng- Reports to the Quality Assurance Manager- Purpose: To manage and assist the facility food safety and quality system.- Management of facility food safety and quality programmes- Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage daily food safety management requirements of the facility, including the training, development, and performance of the factory personnel.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of the HACCP System. Knowledge of HACCP methodology. Participate as the HACCP team leader.
- To drive activities related to resolving the Non-conformances to support the reduction of Inventory costs.
- To support the manufacturing, Supply Chain, and QA Teams by providing feedback on factors adversely affecting product quality and investigating the root cause of these issues.
- Manage the internal/external sampling and testing of materials in accordance with test plans.
- Co-ordinate lab proficiency testing programs to ensure efficacy of methods and competency of Technologists to conduct routine testing.
- To actively participate and support the Continuous Improvement Team in achieving the business goals and objectives.-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Food Technology/B-Tech qualification- Five years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing industry with high quality standards.- Operating within documented Quality Systems- Proven knowledge and experience of scientific testing techniques- Ability to interpret results of analytical and microbiological testing- Attention to detail- Good written and verbal communication - ability to deal with both suppliers and customers- Good numerical skills- PC literate- Good Interpersonal skills - able to work and communicate at all levels throughout the business- Ability to work well as part of a team as well as under own initiative- Willing and capable to learn new skills**What Qualification**
