Job description

We are looking for History Tutors to join our academic institution to help the students learn and understand new concepts and complete their assignments.

The Tutor is responsible for preparing lesson plan by studying lesson plan, reviewing textbook in detail to understand the topic they will be teaching and provide additional projects if needed during a session.

Ultimately, you will work directly with student to assist them in gaining a better understanding of concepts taught in the classroom. You may also communicate with parents to track the process.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to students learning, growth and advancement.
- Maintain a growth mindset towards student learning and teaching practice.
- Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborate effectively with parents and the organization of student’s performance.

Requirements and skills
- Proven 6 months work experience as a tutor or a similar role.
- Tertiary or any relevant qualifications would be beneficial.
- Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative with a sense of humor.
- Ability to take supervision and correction constructively.
- Ability to positively supervise students.
- Records maintenance skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain challenging concepts, provide instructions and provide feedback.
- Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Paarl, Western Cape 7646: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Tutoring, teaching: 1 year (required)
