Mechanical Drafter

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
Draft mechanical engineering drawings for projects and as-built drawings for existing infrastructure. This includes site measurements, inspections and documentation of acquired information.

**Responsible for drafting of mechanical engineering drawings and as-builts**:

- Responsible for working drawings based on instruction from management and marked[1]up drawing.
- Establish drawing standards and templates across all disciplines.
- Responsible for drafting as-builts for existing infrastructure (this includes site measurements and mark-ups).

**Site inspections, measurements and documentation**:

- Conduct site inspections. This includes: ? Obtaining photographic evidence of site.

? Conducting existing condition assessment of site.

? Compiling lists of any possible snags/problems/ issues/ safety risks/non compliance.
- Take measurements.
- Document all information acquired from these sites (report, inspection certificate or drawing format) and present to Civil Engineer.**: Assist with project management of small capital projects**:

- Assist with smaller capital projects. This includes: ? Conducting needs-assessment.

? Conduct site inspection and measurements.
- Document findings and draft working drawings.
- Set-up bill of quantity.
- Set up open tender or process to obtain relevant quotes.
- Conduct tender evaluation and make recommendation to lead project manager for review and approval.
- Write CAPEX submission.
- Be present in project progress meetings during kick-off and at critical milestones.
- Perform construction management (time, quality, cost, people-related and environmental aspects/logistics of project).
- Conduct completion assessments.
- Compile payment certificates and manage contractor payments.
- Do the final follow-up and sign-off of smaller projects/larger projects and escalate to management.
- Complete as-builts of new infrastructure and report to relevant stakeholder (s).

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**Qualifications**: Drafting diploma or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Proof of competency in commercial 3D CAD software.

**Requirements**:At least 1 year experience required in mechanical drawings
