The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with the management of the company fleet and yard, ensuring efficient deliveries, compliance with licensing and safety standards, managing insurance matters, and tracking vehicle movements. The role also involves monitoring diesel usage.

**Educational Requirements**:

- National Senior Certificate - Grade 12.
- Diploma and/or degree in logistics is advantageous.
- Valid Code 10 or 14 driver’s license and professional driving permit (PDP).

**Experience Requirements**:

- At least one year of working experience in the logistics industry, speficially trucking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Fluent in Afrikaans.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Responsible, hardworking, and dedicated.
- Organized and able to work under pressure with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent managerial and administration skills.
- Willing to work after hours.

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Ensure the processing of new company vehicles and handle insurance claims for damaged vehicles (when applicable).
- Safety - Coordinate the fitting of trackers and lock installations on all new vehicles.
- Organize diesel tanks and order diesel for truck fill-ups.
- Reconcile monthly tracker invoices with received statements.
- Safety maintenance - Monitor fire hydrants, vehicle/truck wheel wrenches, batteries, and fuel leaks.
- Reconcile diesel sheets/usage records, monitor usage, and report any diesel queries for further investigation.
- Ensure generators have sufficient diesel during load shedding and understand generator operation.
- Conduct weekly thorough checks on each truck, inside and out, and take necessary actions or report issues.
- Arrange order numbers for vehicle quotations from other companies when necessary.
- Monitor vehicles for unauthorized stops and routes, as well as excessive idling time.
- Attend to servicing and maintenance, as well as performance issues, of truck refrigeration units.
- Continuously update vehicle spreadsheets with details such as refrigeration units and serial numbers, license disc expiry dates, and completed or required services.
- Investigate and address diesel over-usage within a reasonable time frame (2-3 days) and provide feedback to senior management.
- Attend to and sign off on all reported issues and concerns raised by drivers, referring to others when necessary.
- Provide weekly feedback on repairs, upcoming service needs, and their urgency.
- Ensure the validity and currency of all truck licenses and confirm that all drivers have valid licenses and PDPs.
