The Stellenbosch University Matie Shop is the official merchandise store of Stellenbosch University. This unit resides outside the traditional University framework in a spin out company, Factory 209 (Pty) Ltd, which is 100% owned by SU (Stellenbosch University). We are the official buyers and distributors of all SU branded apparel, gifting and accessories.

**Some duties and Responsibilities are as follow**:

- Supervise and motivate sales associates to achieve daily and monthly sales targets.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service standards.
- Assist the floor manager with staff schedules, breaks, and daily floor coverage.
- Oversee stock replenishment, visual merchandising, and store presentation.
- Oversee weekly stock takes and check SKU’s and pricing are correct.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations professionally.
- Conduct daily floor walk-throughs to assess cleanliness, displays, and compliance.
- Train, coach, and mentor new and existing team members.
- Monitor and report on sales performance and operational efficiency to the floor manager.
- Support the floor manager with opening and closing procedures and daily cash-ups.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification NQF 4
- Minimum of 3 years’ retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Proven ability to meet sales goals and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Flexible and Adaptable.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Pay: R8 000,00 - R10 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Stellenbosch, Western Cape 7600: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- High School (matric) (required)

**Experience**:

- Supervisory: 1 year (required)
- Apparel Retail: 3 years (required)
