As a Social Media Content Creator & Manager for a Gen-Z focused fashion accessories/backpack/e-commerce brand you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing social media content strategies that align with the organization’s marketing goals. This role involves creating engaging content (including on camera content) across various platforms, analyzing performance metrics, and fostering community engagement to enhance brand visibility and loyalty. If you are passionate about influencer content, and maybe even an influencer yourself, and can also develop robust strategies for social media pages with already hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok and Instagram, this role may be for you.
**Responsibilities**:
- Social Media Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the marketing calendar, focusing on follower growth, engagement, and community building.
- Continuously monitor social media trends and adjust the strategy to stay relevant to the younger community and Gen Z audience that follow the brand.
- Analyze key performance metrics (follower growth, engagement rate, impressions) and adjust tactics for optimization.
- Grow upon the already hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and TikTok.- Content Creation & Curation:
- Take a hands-on role in creating engaging social media content, including appearing in front of the camera for TikTok, Reels, and other short-form video content.
- Produce and edit videos, photos, and graphics that reflect the brand’s personality and resonate with the target audience using tools like CapCut.
- Curate user-generated content (UGC) to build authenticity and community connection from Influencer, Interns in studio, and customers.
- Create content that follows the trends on different platforms, knowing how the brand could be represented to the community.- Community Management:
- Foster an active online community through daily engagement, responding to comments, messages, and fostering conversations across platforms.- Influencer & Affiliate Management:
- Identify, manage, and collaborate with influencers to promote the brand, ensuring ROI and tracking the performance of influencer campaigns.
- Manage affiliate programs, including recruitment and performance optimization, with a focus on driving affiliate revenue.- Collaboration & Partnerships:
- Identify potential brand collaboration partners, manage outreach, and oversee project execution from start to finish.- Intern Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor NYC-based interns to support social media and content creation efforts.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in social media management for DTC or retail brands, ideally those with a strong cultural relevance to Gen Z.
- Gotta get the vibes (social native, unserious (in a humor sense), as cool/fun/smart/interesting/trendy/fashion forward as the rest of the client’s team lol.)
- Experience in the fashion and apparel or e-commerce space, using social content to drive a marked sales increase is a plus.
- A knowledge of the current social media trends, you should be an avid consumer of social content and can spot a trend as it is becoming popular.
- Strong content creation skills, including being comfortable in front of the camera for TikTok and Instagram videos, along with video editing and graphic design, and a portfolio showcasing this.
- Experience developing and executing social media strategies that drive growth and engagement.
- Proven track record of managing influencer and affiliate marketing campaigns.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Deep understanding of social media trends, especially for younger audiences, and an ability to adapt quickly.
- Experience with tools such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Later, basic photo/video editing software, and Shopify.
- Experience managing and mentoring interns is a plus.
