Responsible for strategic and technical direction, of Legacy Network Equipment and System decommissioning for Network, Applications and Systems across all ranges to optimise Telkom's Core Network cost and efficiency.

**Responsibilities**:
Support with liaising and maintaining of contracts with 3rd party suppliers.
Liaising and co-ordinating around decommissioning tasks with Field operations, RINP and Access network Engineering.
Provide technical support and implement the decisions and actions associated with the prompt recovery of legacy equipment.
Support the specialist in liaising with field operations, engineering, and suppliers to ensure power, aircon and generators are running optimally.
Responsible for reporting on progress of all decommissioning projects.
Update asset records.
Implement, Configure & Support Internetwork on relevant Technologies.

**Required Certification**:
Relevant vendor certification is preferable

**Qualifications**:
3 Year Electrical Engineering degree/ diploma (at least at NQF level 6), with 5 years relevant technical experience

Rerelevant vendor certification is preferable

OR

Grade 12 with 7 years relevant operatonal experience and

Relevant vendor certification is preferable

**Experience**:
3 Year Electrical Engineering degree/ diploma (at least at NQF level 6), with 5 years relevant technical experience

**Special Requirements**:
Valid driver's license
Willing to be called upon 24 hours of the day
Perform standby duties
