Job Title- Intern (2 positions) (contract appointment: 1 year) Job ID: 5980- Organizational Unit- University of the Free State -> Vice-Rector: Operations -> Finance -> Student Finance- Contract Type- Contract- Occupational Level- Unskilled- Location- Bloemfontein Campus - Bloemfontein, FS ZA (Primary) - Closing Date- 8/11/2024- Description**Duties and responsibilities**: **Gain exposure and perform the following tasks**: - Process transactions on PeopleSoft. - Capture data. - Assist with NSFAS/bursary allocations, disbursements, and funding-related administration. - Journalise rectifications/changes to accounts/entities. - Manage account and general enquiries. **Inherent requirements**: - A Bachelor’s degree or a B-Tech degree on NQF Level 7 in the field of Accounting. **Recommendations**: - Postgraduate contact sessions should be after working hours. - Sound knowledge of general accounting. - Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel. - Communication and people skills, with the ability to work well with students and colleagues. - The applicant should not currently be participating in an existing learnership/internship programme. - The applicant should not have any previous formal work experience. - The applicant must be willing to sign a learnership/internship agreement with UFS. - The applicant must be available for the period of 1 year to participate in the learnership/internship. - Competencies**Required competencies**: - **Results orientated**: - The ability to be reliable, responsible, dependable and to fulfil obligations. - The ability to maintain composure and self-control. **- Strategic thinking**: - The ability to deal with several activities at a time. - The ability to plan work and to follow plans. **- Business acumen**: - Proficient in using MS Office. - Sound knowledge of general accounting. **- Leading**: - The ability to be cooperative with others, display good-natured attitude, and encourage people to work together. **- Building coalitions**: - The ability to interact with others and establish personal connections with people.**Assumption of duties**: 6 January 2025. **Closing date**: 8 November 2024. **Salary**: A stipend of R8 567.50 will be paid per month. **Required Documents** - A detailed curriculum vitae and cover letter. - Copies of qualifications (please provide the SAQA accreditation in the case of foreign qualifications). - A copy of your identity document (ID). - Confirmation of employment of your current employer / last employer (only applicable to external applicants). **Enquiries**: Additionally, kindly contact 051 401 9848/ 9813/ 9810/ 9814 for assistance. **General**:
