**Job Purpose**: The main responsibilities are maintaining Food Safety and Health and Safety systems and management of the Laboratory within a Food Processing Plant (Dairy Factory) environment**Job Specification**:
**Supervising laboratory and laboratory staff**:
- Compiling schedules for the different shifts- Training of laboratory personnel- Supervising laboratory personnel to accomplish all tasks- Ensure all microbiological and chemical tests are executed correctly- Interpretation of results, and reporting when out of specification results- Managing laboratory consumables- Verification and calibration of laboratory equipment- Managing external testing**Food Safety System**:

- Maintaining the Food Safety Management system according to the FSSC 22000 standard- Conducting and participating in internal audits- Responsible to prepare for and facilitate 3rd party audits- Handling corrective actions- Participate as a member of the Food Safety Team**Health and Safety System**:

- Maintaining the Health and Safety Management system according to ISO 45001 standard- Conducting and participating in internal audits- Responsible to prepare for and facilitate 3rd party audits- Handling corrective actions- Participate as a member of the Health and Safety Team**General**:

- Various other scheduled and unscheduled tasks as required by the Management Systems- Work overtime as and when required-
**Inherent Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Diploma/Degree in Food Technology or Microbiology- 3+ years working experience in Food and/or Dairy processing- Experience in a micro laboratory (in dairy lab preferable)- HACCP Training- Internal Auditing Training- FSSC training is a bonus- Computer literate- Experience working with Health and Safety- Experience working at a FSSC 22000 Certified factory is a bonus**Valid drivers license and own transport essential**

**Competencies**:

- Strong supervising/management skills- Competent with MS Word and MS Excel- Self-motivated, self-starter- Work independently, think proactively and must have ability to do own job planning- Analyse and solve problems- Pay attention to detail- Team player- Excellent communication skills - interact with managers and team members**What Qualification**
