As a Regulatory Advisor, you'll be responsible for assisting and supporting the organization in complying with applicable regulatory requirements, as well as the ongoing monitoring of regulatory changes and relevant industry practices to ensure that appropriate interventions are defined and managed. Conducts regulatory risk assessments and evaluates internal regulatory controls to ensure compliance and recommends appropriate changes. Conducts and facilitates internal and external audits to identify, evaluate, disclose and appropriately remedy risks and deficiencies. Keeps abreast of regulatory requirements and changes.

**Requirements
- Provide expert advice on regulatory matters impacting the telecommunications industry, including data privacy, competition law and trademark law.
- Ensure that all the necessary regulatory licenses, permits, and certifications are timeously processed and renewed.
- Engage internal stakeholders and draft regulatory submissions in respect of all requests for regulatory submissions by local and regional regulatory authorities.
- Draft internal regulatory opinions as and when requested by internal stakeholders with a view of mitigating against unnecessary risks.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships with various local and regional regulatory authorities, and policymakers and lobby for the business’ strategic position in alignment with its business needs.
- Attend to ISPA queries, including online takedown notices.

**Data Privacy Key Roles and Responsibilities**
- Provide expert advice on data privacy in compliance with applicable data privacy laws such as POPIA and the GDPR.
- Ensure that the organization complies with the data privacy laws by implementing the data privacy governance framework.
- Serve as the point of contact for data privacy queries.
- Coordinate and conduct data privacy audits.

**Intellectual Property Key Roles and Responsibilities**
- Advise the business on all aspects of intellectual property, such brand protection and enforcement.
- Maintain the business’ trademark schedule.
- Attend to global trademark monitoring alerts.

**Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor of Laws
- Four years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs and/or regulatory relations with a focus on federal, state and local regulations preferred.
- Good communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must possess a working knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the Information Technology industry.
