Operations Supervisor: Warehouse

**Purpose of the role**
- Contribute positively to the most efficient flows within the DC to ensure stock is processed and despatched timeously with the purpose of wowing our customer
**Scope of the role**
- All operations within the DC environment
**Key Performance Areas**
- Effective and efficient management of the warehouse
- Understand department goals and translate these into outputs for staff.
- Manage a team and their outputs to meet set productivity targets.
- Ability to translate outputs against time for the purpose of calculating individual and departmental UPM’s (units per man hour).
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SOP’s across the relevant work areas.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of systems functionality with both Omega and Qwix (system and scanner) to ensure user compliance as intended.
- Ability to understand business process for the purpose of contributing to SOP’s as well as correcting deviations from planned practice.
- Identify poor performance related issues with staff and ensure timely communication of issues to staff / and or line manager for on-going related performance issues
- Ability to create operational excel templates across different work areas for the purpose of administering and tracking all work.
- Ensure departmental queries closed within SLA
- Assigning people to tasks within departments to ensure work is completed.
**Talent management**:
- Identify skills deficiencies and training needs
- Facilitate with driving pulse survey initiatives to address concerns raised
**Health and Safety**
- Play an active role on the Health and Safety committee as a Section 8 appointee.
- Champion/ enforce health and safety practices as per safety standards and procedures.
**Qualifications**
- Effective and efficient management of the warehouse
- Matric Certificate/Grade 12
- Certificate / Diploma in Supply Chain Management
- Degree in logistics and or post graduate studies (added advantage)
**Experience & Skills**
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the warehousing industry at managerial level
- 3 Years’ experience in an automated warehouse environment
- Proven IR (Industrial relations) skills
- 3 Years WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience
- Capable of developing clear and up-to-date procedural processes
- Proven materials handling knowledge
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Previous experience in the retail industry
