The Technical Support Specialist is a key member of the operations team, with particular focus on the technical and data component of the Munsoft FMS software. This person will work closely with the FMS Support Consultants, Project Team and Development to help resolve technical problems and ensure quality of service delivery. This position requires in-depth Munsoft system knowledge, understanding of the accounting framework governing the Municipalities, mSCOA knowledge, attention to detail, problem solving skills, positive professional attitude, and ability to work in a team environment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Technical Support Specialist can expect to focus their work in the following areas:

- Understand and provide a resolution for escalated issues.
- Assess escalated issues and liaise with Support/Projects and Development to ensure validity and efficient resolution.
- Coordinate the technical responses to relevant stakeholders.
- Have extensive knowledge of the FMS system in its entirety.
- Execute various SQL scripts and Linux commands where required.
- Understand and explain provided solutions from Development to the support team in order to reduce the same issue being escalated repetitively.
- Based on the technical errors logged, identify improvement areas and engage with relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise regularly with Support and other departments on key focus and emerging areas such as Migration, NT uploads, Spatial etc.
- Collaborate on various enhancement specifications.
- Consistently evaluate program performance and make corrective recommendation.
- Advise on training requirements where needed.
- Adaptable to seasonal or product demands.

**Qualifications**:
The Technical Support Specialist position requires the following qualifications:

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
- Strong proficiency in Oracle scrips/statements.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
- Accounting knowledge and experience will be beneficial
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
