Project Manager

Position overview
Key responsibilities
Project coordination and management Lead the planning, execution, and closure of projects within the manufacturing domain. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including 3D designers, industrial designers, procurement, and fabrication, to develop a clear understanding of the project’s requirements. Ensure timely identification and resolution of any issues or roadblocks affecting project progress. Ensure that project scope, objectives, and deliverables are clearly defined and agreed upon. Develop and manage a detailed project plan for each project, ensuring clear milestones, timelines, and resource allocation. Facilitate regular project meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and keep all stakeholders informed.
Schedule and deadline management Monitor project timelines to ensure all deadlines are met and project deliverables are completed on time. Work with various teams to ensure that deadlines are realistic and achievable and communicate potential delays proactively. Implement and track the execution of project timelines, ensuring all tasks are on schedule.
Collaboration and stakeholder communication Serve as the main point of contact for all internal project stakeholders, including 3D designers, industrial designers, procurement, and fabrication teams. Ensure clear and consistent communication regarding project status, resource needs, and issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. Provide weekly project updates to the operations team to ensure transparency and alignment on project progress and milestones. Address and resolve any conflicts or discrepancies between teams in a timely and constructive manner.
Risk management and problem-solving Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution. Resolve issues promptly and efficiently, making informed decisions to keep the project moving forward. Ensure all project challenges are communicated to the appropriate stakeholders, and work with teams to develop solutions.
Project documentation and reporting Maintain comprehensive documentation for each project, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Prepare and present detailed project reports that provide insight into progress, resource utilisation, and any issues encountered. Ensure that all project documentation is up to date and accurately reflects project status. Perform project tracking and data input on Sage X3, ensuring accurate and timely project status updates and documentation are maintained.
Continuous improvement Contribute to the development and improvement of project management processes to increase efficiency and enhance project outcomes. Gather feedback from stakeholders after project completion to identify lessons learned and opportunities for process improvement. Perform ad hoc-related duties as required.
Experience and qualifications
Educational requirements A relevant qualification in industrial design.
Experience requirements Ten years of experience in industrial technology and design. Experience working with CNC machines, laser cutters, 3D printing, vinyl printers, and plotters is preferable. Experience with MDF, natural woods, acrylic, common metals, cladding, and laminates, as well as the manufacturing methods associated with these materials, is advantageous. Expertise in the creation of technical manufacturing drawings.
Technical proficiency Expert user of SOLIDWORKS Professional. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Rhino 3D will be beneficial. Proficiency in CorelDRAW will be beneficial.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. High emotional intelligence - ability to work effectively with diverse personalities. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, 3D design, industrial design, and fabrication processes. Proficiency in project management, utilising Sage X3 for project tracking and data management.
