Data Administration Team Lead

**Purpose of the Job**:
The purpose of the Data Administration Team lead role is to provide operational and administrative support to the Data Management function through the execution of data processing operations including executing data inputting on various systems, prioritisation of business requests, resolving complex data scenarios and providing guidance on the improvement of data quality and outputs. The role delivers on its objectives with the aim of providing business units with accurate information that facilitate operations.

The role forms part of a centralised administrative function, executing complex business processes, while adhering to a clearly defined set of standards and procedures to ensure that a uniform and consistent data approach is established and maintained across the organisation. The role reports to the Data Administration Manager and interacts with various stakeholders across the business to illicit input and data specifications, while ensuring a customer centric approach and commitment to service level standards are maintained

**Job Objectives**:
**People Leadership**

Lead, coach, and mentor Data Administrators, ensuring high competence and delivery of individual and team output, removing impediments and ensuring the team is motivated to achieve individual and collective objectives.

Drive overall team maturity to efficiently deliver tasks, identifying and encouraging areas for growth and/or improvement.

Initiate or participate in the team capacity planning, staff requisition and recruitment processes, including the new team member onboarding and stakeholder engagements.

Ensure overall team adherence to standard operating procedures.

Partner with the Team Manager and People Partner teams to manage team performance, drive training and knowledge sharing within the team.

**Data Management, Quality Assurance and Operational Efficiency**

Define and perform required pre & post checks to ensure business, data, and system rule compliance and enhance the quality of the data.

Maintain a high level of efficiency by operating within the business-defined operating model and performing tasks in accordance with the department's service level agreement.

Ensure business needs are effectively and efficiently addressed.

Collect, process, and input data into the appropriate systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity is maintained.

**Stakeholder Engagements and Management Support**

Provide relevant information and support to the Data Administration Manager for effective team management.

Interact with business units to understand and execute their specific process-level data requirements.

Ensure business users and stakeholders are kept informed on the status of projects or requests through frequent updates and communication.

Provide data support to Senior Business users.

**User Support and Training**

Provide training and render support to business users and Data Administrators on data and system functionalities and requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 certificate - (essential)

**Experience**:

- +3 years' experience in a data administration team lead or equivalent role, with demonstrable knowledge of database systems, working with large datasets and overseeing, executing and providing input into data administrative frameworks, policies, procedures and guidelines - (essential).

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of user requirements analysis - (essential).
- Strong proficiency in MS Office specifically Excel - (essential).
- An understanding of data administrative practices within the FMCG or retail sector - (beneficial).

Exposure to one or more of the below systems and processes - (beneficial).
- SAP
- Customer requirements analysis
- Kanban or any other incident management system(s)
