- Gauteng- Reports to: Fitting and Machine shop foreman- Job Purpose: As a Fitter you would install, service, repair and be able to assemble all Furnaces, Crushers, Pulverisers, and trolleys etc. coming from the manufacturing shop (Boiler Shop and outside suppliers)- GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- The key areas of responsibility include:
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. (Including Pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams)- Working with job cards and material issue documents- PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Repairing and maintain all mechanical equipment.- 2. Handling and moving objects by using hands and arms in handling and installing, positioning and moving material.- 3. Inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other defects.- 4. Perform activities that require the use of his arms and legs using his whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and stooping, and the handling of materials.- 5. Observing, receiving and obtaining information from the relevant sources to complete work piece.- 6. Monitor and reviewing information from materials to detect or assess problems.- 7. Identifying information, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities and changes in events to complete work pieces.- 8. Controlling machines and the various processes.- 9. Do preventive maintenance on all equipment in factory, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatics.- 10. Do scheduled checks on machinery and parts.- 11. Finding and fixing faults, oiling and cleaning machinery and parts.- 12. Carrying out scheduled overhaul and replacing parts that have reached the end of their working live.- 13. Be able to work on other sites to do break down repairs-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Minimum N3 level with necessary Red Seal as a Fitter.- Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant field.- Knowledge:
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. (Including Pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams- An understanding of manufacturing processes and some technical knowledge.- Preventive maintenance on all equipment in factory, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatics.- Observing safety in accordance with Regulations and company standards.- Skills and Abilities:
- Good practical skills. - Strong problem-solving skills. - Good communication skills - The ability to work under pressure and deadlines. - Must be able to perform work duties on his own or in a team. - Must perform duties according to the Health and Safety standards. - Must work according to the Quality Control Systems. - Must be able to work overtime to get capital projects completed if required.**What Qualification**
