To ensure patients receive proper, caring, and professional service regarding their eye needs, with the aim of achieving high levels of patient satisfaction by addressing their specific needs.
- To establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect
- Dedicated to meeting customers' expectations; obtain first-hand customer information and using it for improvements in service.
- Communicate the results of the visual refraction in a manner the patient understands.
- Ensure that patients receive necessary assistance and advice with the selection of frames and lenses and or contact lenses.
- Communicate medical aid benefits and other finance options to patients.
- Timeously process prescriptions and forward orders to the lab/supplier as well as following up of these orders.
- Ensure that the spectacles/lenses meet prescription requirements.

- Prompt answering of calls, scheduling of appointments, preparation and processing of quotes
- Ensure that patient queries, disputes and complaints relating to the spectacles and scripts are handled efficiently and timeously.
- Clean, maintain and care of all optical equipment including contact lens trial sets in the examination room.
- Accurate filing and updating of patient records
- Processing of invoices and receipts
- Submitting of invoices to relevant medical aids daily
**Required Skills & Competencies**:
Displays confidence, maintains voice and eye contact. Responds openly and warmly and maintains a friendly, personable approach. Interacts with customers and makes a positive, professional first impression.
Actively seeks solutions to problems before being asked or directed and initiates self-development efforts. Generates ideas & collects information that might be useful for the business, does more than required.
Attends training courses on current developments in the area of expertise. Performs tasks specific to the area of expertise reliably, skillfully, and accurately. Maintains a high skill level and uses knowledge of facilities, capabilities, and capacities to achieve tasks and solve problems.
Has a working knowledge of computers, operating systems and MS Office software (Word, Outlook & Excel). Preferably have knowledge of Optimax or acquire within 2 months for joining the company.
Able to understand and implement turnover targets, cost of sales, break-even, budgets, financial reports, debtors and financial management of the practice.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: R27,58 - R44,00 per hour
