Our client, a leader in the private healthcare industry, is urgently looking for a **Senior Professional Nurse** with proven work experience in a **Medical Ward. **This is a **permanent opportunity** at a private hospital in** **Cape Town Northern Suburbs** **in the** Western Cape**.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Valid SANC
- Prior experience in a similar position is essential
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Competence in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures and management of risks
- Sound knowledge of stock management
- The ability to identify, report, investigate and address near-misses and adverse events
- Good leadership abilities and role modelling
- Good planning and organising skills that contribute to meeting objectives
- The ability to display sound judgement in problem-solving
- Builds and maintains relationships that facilitate the achievement of goals
- Exhibits full responsibility for own work outputs and outputs of team

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provides unit management support by maintaining quality management, performance management and people management practices
- Executes duties and responsibilities according to nursing scope of practice
- Delivers comprehensive and quality patient care to meet the health needs of patients
- Adheres to patients’ rights at all times
- Prevents, reports and manages medico-legal risks
- Conducts comprehensive patient care audits
- Record keeping complies with company standards and legal requirements
- Control of stock and equipment according to client’s policy
