**THE ROLE**

Our Johannesburg based outfit, is looking for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the health and safety of employees while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Medical Surveillance
- Physical Examinations
- Fitness declaration against medical standards
- Data Capturing and Record keeping
- Ad hoc Hearing tests, Vision tests and Spirometry
- Must be able to perform audits, risk based Occupational health inspections and client site visits.
- Must be able to manage and facilitate the implementation of an risk based Occupational Health plan
- Adherence to time frames and procedures
- Emergency care experience will be an advantage, but is not compulsory
- Must work well within a team and under pressure
- Maintain a quality system
- Attend meeting on different levels with plant representing Occupational Health
- Manage Incapacity and Disability cases with OMP
- Must be willing to rotate in all departments in the medical station eg. Casualties, Fitness examinations
- Good communication skills and able to communicate and follow up on actions on plant level
- Dispensing of medication

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Registered Nurse with SANC
- Spirometry and Audiometry qualifications are required
- Vision testing qualification (not compulsory)
- An advantage would be ISO/OHSAS courses attended
- Audit experience in the Occupational Health field
- Emergency Care / Trauma experience serves as an advantage
- Post-graduate Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing serves as an advantage
- At least 3 years work experience as an Occupational Health Practitioner
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Good organisational skills, the ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is delivered
- Client service skills, active listening skills, sensitivity and understanding, pay attention to detail
- Good communication skills (writing and verbal)
- Work well under pressure
