**Position Overview**:
As a Quality Controller in our dealership's service department, you will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating vehicles after they have undergone servicing or repair work. Your primary objective is to ensure that vehicles meet the dealership's quality standards and are safe and reliable for customers. You will collaborate closely with the service technicians and service advisors to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction.
**Specific Role Responsibilities**:
- **Vehicle Inspection**: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles that have undergone service or repair work, focusing on various aspects such as mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic components.
- **Quality Assurance**: Ensure that all service and repair tasks have been completed correctly and to the dealership's quality standards. Verify that the work meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications.
- **Safety Checks**: Perform safety inspections to ensure that vehicles are roadworthy and meet all safety regulations and standards.
- **Functional Testing**: Test drive vehicles to assess their performance, handling, and any potential issues. Identify and address any unusual noises, vibrations, or handling problems.
- **Documentation**: Maintain detailed records of your inspections and findings. Document any defects or issues and communicate them to the service advisors and technicians for resolution.
- **Customer Communication**: Occasionally, interact with customers to explain the results of your inspection and address any concerns they may have regarding the service or repair work.
- **Final Approval**: Grant final approval for the release of vehicles to customers, ensuring they are clean, properly serviced, and meet all quality and safety standards.
- **Problem Resolution**: Collaborate with service technicians to resolve any issues or discrepancies found during inspections, ensuring that all concerns are addressed before vehicle delivery.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Provide feedback to the service department and management regarding areas for improvement in service processes, quality control procedures, and technician training.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all dealership and manufacturer standards, guidelines, and regulations related to vehicle servicing and quality control.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Automotive technical training or certification is a plus).
- Prior experience in automotive service, repair, or quality control.
- Strong knowledge of motor vehicle systems, mechanics, and electronics.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
