**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

Responsible for providing specialized coordination, guidance, and expertise for a specific retail function. Competencies for this role are typically gained through on the job or specialized training. To analyse the scope of the global and local consumer lifestyle, to determine customer and product trends and to provide insights relevant to the customers of the various brands in the Pepkor group.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Conduct research (social media, trend sites, google) in order to enable forecast and analysis relating to product, marketing, VM and retail in general
- Customer behaviour and mind-set research & analysis
- Competitor research and analysis, including regular store visits
- Keep up to date with emerging trends in the market and analyze their impact on the company’s products & services
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented strategies that align with identified trends
- Stay up to date with trends in the industry and continue to develop knowledge and skills in the field
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including product development, marketing, sales to develop strategies
- Assist with business specific strategies and initiatives
- Assist with and conduct presentations to businesses
- Work in close collaboration with marketing, digital and the buying teams to propose input to the product strategy based on trend and consumer shopping patterns
- Research new sources of trend, design and concept information
- Keep abreast of customer identity and interests relating to the social and cultural trends
- Assist with researching, presenting & creating relevant and on trend digital content
- Build strong relationships with all stakeholders
- Admin assistance and assisting the department with travel arrangements
- Ad hoc duties and involvement as required

**JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS**
- Diploma or degree in Fashion Design/Marketing/Digital Visuals/Retail management
- Keen interest in social media and digital
- A love for retail and how to execute differentiated customer proposition
- Creative, with an eye for detail and a passion for engaging with customers
- Ability to work independently & within a team
- Passionate about analysing customer behaviour
- 2+ years’ experience interpreting trends (i.e. in Apparel, Footwear and Accessories)
- 2 + years’ trend/research experience, preferably in a retail environment
- Computer Literacy: Advanced MS Office, G Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally
