The repositioning of Supply Chain aims to deliver a strategic commercial front-end that will take the lead in delivering sustainable value to the business. The focus of the global commercial teams (Directs & Indirects) will be on key strategic supplier partnerships, supplier innovation to address technical and sustainability business challenges/opportunities and associated global framework agreements. To create sustainable value, value creation strategies will integrate more traditional commercial value levers with broader technical, safety and sustainability elements that enable the Living Mine. Key sustainability elements include communities, circular economy, carbon neutrality, waterless-mining, and the commitment to sourcing responsibly.

**Job Description**:
Responsible for managing a specific set of mining commodity categories, in support of the broader portfolio strategy and business ambition that delivers improved business performance through commercial agreements, enables innovation, supplier partnering and internal stakeholder collaboration.
- Responsible for developing mining commodity category strategies, support input to business cases, plans to ensure security of supply, the advancement of supplier partnering that drives innovation and value, compile and execute sourcing events, support negotiations, establish and execute contracts.
- Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing business priorities
- Project management of key initiatives
- Support the development of the broader mining commodity category portfolio strategy, value creation plans and business cases by providing relevant data, analysis, opportunity assessments and market intelligence.
- Understand regional strategic priorities and develop relevant Category Management strategies to support business needs and improved value delivery with a focus on cost reduction, working capital and TCO initiatives.
- Implement value creation and supplier engagement strategies that align to the overall global Supply Chain strategy, critical tasks, performance targets and Business Unit priorities
- Develop and manage relationships with strategic suppliers, to drive step change in value and deliver innovative solutions that position Anglo American as a partner of choice
- Participate in negotiations with finalising GFAs (General Framework Agreements) and related Contract Amendments
- Optimize value through innovation, risk mitigation and growth throughout the relationship life cycle
- Plan, schedule, resource and execute activities relating to relevant contracts in category portfolio
- Identify, enable & track value and inclusive procurement opportunities, commercial initiatives and specific resource requirements
- Accountable for the contract over it’s life-cycle and ensure contract administration and performance management activities are executed timely and with quality
- Ensure the effective and efficient execution of contracts management activities for allocated portfolio (including the loading of finalized contracts onto the system to enable transactions)
- Manage the implementation of bespoke agreements that outline innovation, joint development, technical, commercial, relationship and performance expectations
- Understand community specific needs and identify value creation opportunities to address these
- business cases, that advance Anglo American technical, community, sustainability, and financial ambitions
- Responsible for the seamless and quality handover of relevant contracts to on-site Supply Chain teams that will support the site-based implementation and day-to-day performance management.
- Ensure compliance to internal Anglo American and Supply Chain Governance requirements for all team members and pertaining to all.
