MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
The role entails overseeing of all manufacturing, packing and internal logistics operations in a factory on the Site.

It delivers production commitments within the safety and cost standards and quality specifications. It ensures clean and safe working environment and drives continuous improvement in production and internal logistics based on the company’s manufacturing excellence guidelines and Unilever Manufacturing Systems.

Works closely with the Supply Planning Manager to lead the short and long-term master resource planning in support of future growth plans for site. Partners daily with the Site Engineering Manager to ensure machines and lines uptime are sufficient for higher capacity in the factory to fulfil market demand and ensure there is a robust maintenance regime for sustained asset reliability.

Reviews volume performance and production prioritization on weekly basis with the supply planning team. In close liaison with the Site Quality Manager ensures products comply with quality standards and specifications. Works closely with SHE Manager to ensure the employees are protected and run the manufacturing and packing plants safely and with mínimal environmental impact.

Supports the R&D and the Process Lead (SUIT) in driving innovations and renovations projects. Works closely with the Finance Manager and Process Lead to input in product costing for any of the changes.

Overall leader the manufacturing and packing plants teams by ensuring proper onboarding, training, updates, resourcing, coaching, and guidance happens daily for optimum performance and high motivation.

JOB SUMMARY:

- Manage all conversion operations from goods receipt, material storage and internal logistics, through processing and packing to handover to distribution
- Define the key capacity parameters and identify constraints for short
- and long-term production planning
- Achieve annual committed manufacturing excellence savings
- Achieve Annual targets for the Factory
- Ensure that the required and Quality and necessary Safety, Health, and Environmental systems are in place
- Prepare and monitor the factory operating plan and budget and control the manufacturing conversion costs and internal logistics against budget
- Coordinate and drive activities of Production leading to continuous improvement of performance, output, and reliability; aiming for world-class operations (cost-reduction optimized use of assets and resources and lower wastage)
- Coordinate the availability of resources and inputs from other departments and 3rd parties
- Design, implement and monitor procedures, systems, and work-instructions to ensure the safe handling of all chemicals, safety of processes and the health and safety of all people on site. Develop and implement appropriate safety training programs
- Assess personal capabilities of staff and develop/implement training programs to enhance the skills of all employees in production and internal logistics
- Maintain excellent quality standards and ensuring safe working practices through compliance with the guidelines set up in Company Quality, Health & Safety, Environment, Customer Service and Consumer Safety

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- BSc or BTech in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Electrical)
- 5 years Manufacturing experience in FMCG or any other industry
- 5 years in leadership role
- Good interpersonal skills, self-awareness, people development, self-drive, business acumen, influential skills at all levels in an organization
- Understanding or exposure in industrial relations and employee engagement
