Carpenter (Commercial)

We are looking to hire a skilled carpenter with knowledge of various carpentry techniques. You will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to a client's requirements.

Key Responsibility Areas: Core Functions
- Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and studwork
- Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation
- Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures
- Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job
- Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects, and building code recommendations.
- Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
- Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
- Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.

**Education & Qualifications**
- High school diploma.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of 3 + years’ experience as a carpenter.

**Job-Related Experience**
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination - Knowledge of mathematics
- Proven experience as a carpenter
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (poweredsaws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: Up to R15,000.00 per month
