**Position Summary**

The Editor will work within the Content team to assist in the production of locally relevant content across Africa. The successful applicant will be expected to edit socially relevant content on daily basis and help lead a team of external editors producing content for key social and fan engagement content initiatives. They will also work in conjunction with the US-based International Programming team, Africa Social and Basketball Operations teams to provide support across all regional content initiatives. The successful applicant will be expected to provide vital support in all facets of content creation, including researching, transcribing, archive searches and on location production assistance.

**Major Responsibility**:
Search across NBA archive systems for finished content and raw footage, maintaining NBA Africa's video archive

Maintain an internal footage library of raw footage and features

Ability to understand and implement production briefs for quick-turn deliverables

Assist in production of a diverse range of content to engage fans across all owned and operated regional social channels

Work cross-departmentally to provide support for Marketing, Global Partnerships and Basketball Operations teams including the production of topical graphics. Provide research support, both internally within the NBA archives and externally to stay abreast of industry innovation.

Fulfill basic licensee requests for additional content

**Required Skills/Knowledge**

Advanced working knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop

Demonstratable video editing ability with a strong portfolio

Creative and effective storyteller with an understanding of how to localize content

**Experience needed**

Experience of working and editing in a sports and/or entertainment production environment

Strong understanding and experience of post-production workflows including various delivery specifications

A proven record of working efficiently and to deadlines Very strong attention to detail and strong written communication skills Basic knowledge of the NBA Enthusiasm to discover new and innovative editing technologies, staying abreast of industry best practices

**Preferred Skills**
A strong understanding of social media platforms and trends

A good understanding of the technicalities/rules of basketball

**Educational Background**

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required
