The Junior Data Manager will work with an AHRI project team and KZN Health to support KZN Health data
integration work, including technology transfer from the Western Cape DoH to enable the development of a data
model, data warehouse and the establishment of an analytics environment. The incumbent will be responsible
for day-to-day development of database schemas, data trafficking processes/code, and overall system process
documentation. They will work closely and collaborate with the AHRI project team to define requirements,
onboard data from main feeder systems and deploy high quality data pipelines in support of the analytics needs
of provincial DOH.

**Overview of duties**

1. Facilitate technology transfer from Western Cape to KZN

2. Write code to develop data systems.

3. Develop and adapt ETL processes for onboarding data from main feeder

systems

4. Develop reporting platform to enable dashboards, action lists and other

reports
- BSc in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or related field (Applied Maths, Physics)
OR
BTech in Information technology or closely related field
OR
BSc (Engineering).
OR
Extensive work experience (10 years) in professional programming and/or database
maintenance/support after non-university training

**Minimum Experience**

1. Minimum of 1-year relevant work experience (including non-remunerated research project
work completed as part of formal degree studies)

2. Professional or degree-requirements research project related SQL language-based DB usage - either as admin or analyst

3. Must have reasonable working knowledge of TWO or more of the following mainstream programming languages: Python, R, C/C++, C#, Ruby, JAVA, PERL, Javascript, MATLAB,

Swift

4. Experience in performing primary data analysis - either STATA, R, Spreadsheets or other

reasonably sophisticated platform,
